Seely Battles Sandy Southwick Track for Sixth Overall
SOUTHWICK, MASS. (July 8, 2017) – Troy Lee Designs rider Cole Seely racked up another top-10 with a nice sixth place ride in the sand at The Wick 338. The unique track was host to Round 7 and Seely looked comfortable all day in the different and challenging conditions. His recent success also helped propel Seely to seventh in the point’s standings.
Seely qualified ninth during the morning sessions and had his eyes on a good start with a decent gate pick. He started ninth and quickly moved forward, settling into sixth after just a few laps. Seely would eventually inherit the fifth spot when a rider in front of him retired on the last lap. In Moto 2, it was déjà vu as Seely started ninth. He navigated his way through the pack and grabbed another fifth place finish. After the points were calculated, his 5-5 slotted him sixth overall.
“It felt good to get two decent starts especially with all the first turn crashes that we had today,” said Seely. “The track was tough as it always is, but I knew if I just rode smart it could be a good day. We made up a lot of points today and hoping to have a good weekend off to keep getting stronger.”
Seely will be able to enjoy a weekend off after four straight races, coming back on July 22 for the Spring Creek National in Millville, Minnesota.
Seely was wearing the GP Air Maze White and Black Racewear in practice and showcased the SE Air Shadow Racewear during both the motos. He also wore a custom painted SE4 Helmet. See more of the 2018 gear sets and the 2018 Moto Helmets online and at your local TLD retailer.
