TLD’s Seely Battles Back For Fifth Place Finish
Minneapolis, MN (February 18, 2017) – Troy Lee Designs rider Cole Seely worked his way through the pack after an early fall and managed to make it all the way up to a fifth-place result. His finish kept his streak alive as Seely has finished in the top five in the last six out of seven rounds.
The Honda rider was more than ready for the gate to drop on the Main Event with Seely grabbing the holeshot inside U.S. Bank Stadium. Not long after the first few turns, Seely went down but was able to get up quickly and complete the first lap in 10th. In the second lap, he picked up several positions and was able to take over his finishing position of fifth just before halfway. With the leaders out of site, he maintained consistent speed, allowing for another solid finish.
“I was feeling good coming into the main event and was really pumped on the holeshot,” said Seely. “It was a little tricky out there and I just made a small mistake. I was happy I was able to get up quickly so I didn’t lose too much time.”
