Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM’s McElrath Finishes A Close Fourth Place in Foxborough

Foxborough, Mass. (April 23, 2016) – Shane McElrath rode a heart-felt race inside Gillette Stadium as he battled with the front-runners to come across the checkered flag just shy of a podium spot in fourth. Teammate Alex Frye finished 19th after getting a start just outside the top 10. After an off-season injury left him questionable to race at all, McElrath has shown flashes of incredible speed as he’s continued to work his way into race shape. In Foxborough, he was battling with the leaders and despite some small mistakes, stayed with the front pack until the end, where he finished just off the podium in fourth. “I didn’t have many expectations when I came into the season because of the injury,” said McElrath. “I always want to be battling for the win, but wasn’t sure where I was going to fit in at the start of the season. So I’m really happy that I’m up there going after the win and podium spots.” Frye started the night with a solid heat race where he finished fourth. He got a solid start in the main event, but had to overcome some misfortune, eventually claiming 19th. The Eastern Regional riders will stay in the Northeast for another week as the team heads to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on April 30. The Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM riders wore the SE Air Cosmic Camo Blue Racewear during practice and the SE Air LE Freedom Racewear during the night show. The SE4 Factory White Helmet accompanied both kits. See all of the 2016 gear sets and the 2016 Moto Helmets online and at your local TLD retailer. 250SX Class Main Event Results

Troy Lee Designs’ Cole Seely Returns to Racing Inside the Top 10

Foxborough, Mass. (April 23, 2016) – Troy Lee Designs rider Cole Seely made his return to the racetrack after sitting out three rounds with an injury sustained during practice. He didn’t skip a beat as he showed his speed right away, finishing seventh despite a bad start. Seely’s journey to the main event wasn’t an easy one. He started very well in his heat race and was nearly through right away, but slid out and was forced to the semi. The semi was over quickly as he was collected on the start, but went onto win the LCQ. After riding every lap possible to get into the Main Event, Seely didn’t show any sign of fatigue as he had to overcome an 18th-place start to push his way into the top 10 and eventually finishing seventh. “It’s great to be back, but tonight was pretty tough,” said Seely. “I guess I can look at it in a positive light that all the extra racing helped, but it definitely wasn’t easy.” Despite missing three races, Seely still sits inside the top 10 in points. Monster Energy Supercross will return to MetLife Stadium for the penultimate round next weekend in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Seely was decked out in the SE Air Caution White and Navy Racewear and SE4 Factory White Helmet.
