Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM’s Nelson Fast in Moto 2 at Glen Helen

San Bernardino, Calif. (May 28, 2016) – As the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship made its annual stop in Southern California at Glen Helen Raceway it was Jessy Nelson leading the way for the Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM team. Nelson scored a podium result on his way to sixth overall. Shane McElrath finished 14th, Alex Frye crossed the line in 17th, Mitchell Oldenburg came in just behind in 18th and Justin Hill rounded out the top 20. Nelson quickly forgot his 13th place finish from Moto 1 and made quick work on the start of Moto 2. He came around the first lap in second and remained there nearly the whole race before finishing on the podium in third. His 13-3 was good enough for sixth overall. “I definitely didn’t have a great moto to start the day, but the race isn’t over after the first moto and I wanted to end the day on a good note,” said Nelson. “I got the start I wanted in Moto 2 and just tried to ride my own race. Alex (Martin) ended up getting me, but overall I felt a lot better in Moto 2.” McElrath raced hard in both motos and came away with a score of 12-16 for 14th overall. Frye also showed his speed in both motos, finishing with a 15-17 moto score for 17th overall. Misfortune struck Oldenburg in Moto 1 as he was forced to retire early, but bounced back in the second moto to score 12th. His 37-12 result placed him 17th overall. Hill was able to score 20th overall after having an issue in the second moto, scoring 17-36 on the day. Next week the riders head to Colorado for the third round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship as the series arrives at Thunder Valley Motocross Park on June 4. Shane McElrath’s day started well as he battled hard in the opening moto to claim 18th. He was inside the top 10 in the second moto when he was forced to retire early with timing and scoring crediting him with 36th. The Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM riders wore the SE Air Corsa Flo Yellow and the SE Air Starburst Yellow and Orange Racewear with the SE4 Factory Yellow Helmet. Troy Lee Designs’ Cole Seely Continues to Showcase Speed in Top 10

San Bernardino, Calif. (May 28, 2016) – Troy Lee Designs rider Cole Seely collected another top-10 finish at Round 2 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship from Glen Helen Raceway. The rough track was hard on all the competitors, but Seely was able to emerge with the top riders in both motos. The opening moto saw Seely charging through the pack to move into the top five in the early laps. His start in the second moto forced him to make another quick charge from outside the top 15, eventually making his way into the top 10. His 5-10 finish, which was the same moto score from Round 1, scored him seventh overall. “It was good to get out of California healthy,” said Seely. “This track is really fast and I’m just happy to have been able to move forward in both my motos.” The third round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship starts its move east with a stop in the Denver, Colorado area at Thunder Valley Motocross Park on June 4. Seely was wearing the SE Air Starburst Red and White and the SE Air Corsa Navy Racewear, along with the SE4 Twilight Navy Helmet.
