High Point MX Race Report - Oldenburg Rides Strong

Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM’s Oldenburg Rides Strong at High Point Raceway

Mt. Morris, Pa. (June 18, 2016) – The Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM’s Mitchell Oldenburg and Shane McElrath took on the hills of Southern Pennsylvania for a beautiful day of racing at High Point Raceway for the fourth round of the season. Oldenburg collected his second top-10 finish of the season in sixth, while McElrath broke into the top 10 during Moto 2 to score 14th overall. Oldenburg rode strong all day despite the extremely rutted and rough conditions that the racetrack presented for two grueling motos. In the opening moto, Oldenburg had to show his passing skills after getting a mid-pack start, coming through the green flag in 19th. He did so quickly and was inside the top 10 around the halfway point, eventually making it up to seventh. Oldenburg’s start was better in Moto 2, but he still had some work to do after starting Lap 2 in 13th. With the 250 riders lining up for the final moto of the day, the track was a huge obstacle, but Oldenburg was able to come away with another seventh place finish to claim sixth overall. McElrath started the day running well in the first moto. He was inside the top 10 for most of the race, but fell back after a mistake and came across the checkered in 15th. Knowing he had the speed to be with the front runners, he charged hard in Moto 2 and improved his score to ninth, giving him 14th overall. The team missed fellow riders Jessy Nelson, Alex Frye, and Justin Hill who did not race due to injuries. The series heads to the South’s only race at Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tennessee on June 25, giving the riders a chance to navigate some new and different soil. The Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM riders wore the GP Air 50/50 Flo Pink/Navy and the GP Air Quest Navy/Orange racewear with the SE4 Pinstripe Navy/Orange helmet. Troy Lee Designs’ Cole Seely Runs Down Top 10 Finish in Southern Pennsylvania

Mt. Morris, Pa. (June 18, 2016) – Troy Lee Designs rider Cole Seely remained a fixture inside the top 10 for another week after scoring ninth overall at the fourth round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship. His 9-13 moto result was good enough to keep his top-10 streak another week as he tackled the tough terrain at High Point Raceway. One week ago, the circuit just north of Morgantown, West Virginia was flooded with several inches of rain, making the track extremely rutted from the start of the first moto. In the opening race, Seely was tracking to make another finish in the top five, but went down with just a handful of laps to go. With little time to make up the positions lost, Seely settled for ninth. In the second moto, Seely started the race mid-pack, coming around the first lap in ninth. He continued his charge forward the entire 30 minutes plus two laps, finishing the moto sixth, giving him an overall score of ninth. “It was nice having a weekend off, but we’re putting our heads down and trying to get on that podium each race,” said Seely. “The track was tough today and it ended up getting me in that first moto. I’m just glad we were able to stay healthy and looking forward to next weekend.” The fifth round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship makes its annual trip to the South with a stop at Muddy Creek Raceway in Blountville, Tennessee on June 25. Seely was wearing the SE Air Corsa Navy and the GP Air 50/50 Flo Pink/Navy Racwear, along with the SE4 Twilight Navy helmet.
