Josh Toth Claims Runner-Up Finish at Rattlesnake National Enduro

CROSS FORK, W. PA. – FMF KTM Factory Racing Team’s Josh Toth battled all afternoon for the top spot at Sunday’s Rattlesnake Enduro, where he came away with a runner-up finish at Round 3 of the AMA National Enduro Series in Cross Fork, Pennsylvania.

Following an impressive victory at the previous round, Toth kicked off the day with a third-place finish in the opening test. He maintained a consistent pace throughout the day as he grabbed a second and third-place finish in tests two and three, setting himself up for a solid win in the fourth test. Securing a third in the second-to-last test, Toth headed into the final section tied in points for the overall lead. He put forth a strong performance but a crash at the end of the day ultimately cost him the lead and he went on to secure second overall for the day.

Josh Toth: “I rode consistent all day and nothing too crazy or too special happened. It was close racing all day between a bunch of us and it came down to the last test. I was happy with the way I rode and with the bike, but I just need to be a little faster and make less mistakes.”

Ben Kelley, Round 1 winner, came into the weekend with control of the points lead but an unfortunate bout with a stomach bug made for a tough day. Kelley got off to a strong start, finishing second in the opening test and followed it up with a test-win in section two. As the day wore on, Kelley struggled to maintain his strength on the bike and he finished out the day with fourth, sixth, fifth and seventh-place scores. Despite a challenging day, Kelley was able to salvage fourth overall to earn valuable points where he now sits second in the NE1 Pro Championship after three rounds.

Ben Kelley: “I’m definitely bummed on the day, especially when it’s something out of my control. This place is really similar to what I ride at home and I feel like I could have won here but I wasn’t able to keep any food down and it caused me to feel pretty weak on the bike as the day went on. I’m looking forward to getting back to normal at the next race.”

Next Round: August 2 - Little Racoon National in Wellston, Ohio
